I found the following resources useful for web developers :

1. Digital web magazine http://www.digital-web.com :

It is the online magazine for web professionals (web designers, developres and information architects.

2. http://Snook.ca is run by Jonathan Snook, an icon in web development and design. His blog provides tutorials and articles about PHP, JavaScript, and more recently (the blog dates back to 2001), Adobe AIR. He also provides useful resources and bookmarks that are worth a read, and talks about things that are part of being a web developer such as project management via email and maintaining your personal brand online.

3. http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/

It’s a great site for developers. developerWorks offers many articles and tutorials pertaining to development topics, not just about web development, but also on related fields such as systems administration and open source technologies and applications.

4. http://Blog.spoonGraphics.co.uk/
Blog.SpoonGraphics is a blog about graphics and web design created by Chris Spooner, a graphics and web designer. There are many tutorials on Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, free, downloadable resources like “Sliding Door” tab menus, articles for inspiration, and news.

5. www.webdesignerwall.com
Web Designer Wall is a blog by Nick La that features design ideas and elaborate, stunning tutorials such as creating a CSS gradient Text Effect – a technique that uses an image overlay over normal XHTML text, and jQuery tutorials for designers which showcases ten techniques to get you started with jQuery.

6. http://www.sitepoint.com/
is Melbourne,Australia-based publisher of books and websites. It is best known for its web developer books and online magazine.

My Favourite websites

I would like to share few of my favourite websites with you all. In our daily life the following categories are really important like,News, Social,Maps,Kids,Movies,Video,Shopping,Local,Learning etc. I am trying to cover some of those.

My choices are :

1.www.cnn.com ,I love this because it gives me the latest information, also the videos.Today only it told me about the hottest website -

2.  www.pinterest.com
Which is an online pin board to organize and share things. Depending upon first few choices that you have entered at the time of creating the id, it will provide all the information of similar topics. It has so many more to do with.It is written on the Django python web framework.

3.  I also love www.google.com/earth it is a virtual globe, map and geographical information program, using the satellite images. I was amazed when I view this in the aircraft on my way to India.

4. www.youtube.com is my hot favourite, not only I can find anything here I wish for, also I can upload my own creation! Sharing with you a video ,(My daughter was 3 then)!

This site used Adobe Flash Video and HTML5.

5. www.netflix.com is probably the best online movie site, sitting at home, browsing from a huge database, high definition and so on. It provides users to choose their download rates.

6. I am a music lover and so I love www.pandora.com and go to the online radio station or browse by my favourite singer. It is an internet radio.
 
7. My daughter loves www.starfall.com , it helps the children to learn how to read and write in English. And I found http://www.sillybooks.net/ is also  good, with animated children's books.

8. Another good shopping site is www.dealnews.com , really good for discount shopping.

9. www.wikipedea.org is the free encyclopedia which anyone can edit.
It uses Mediawiki software.

10. It is now almost impossible to survive without www.google.com. Thanks to google for helping me to complete my 1st MAT assignment.
